ever considered that you could be wrong?

Why is it that people cling onto their preconcieved ideas of a person and can’t accept that maybe they don’t know them as well as they think? That when faced with something that goes against their precious idea of a person that they thought they’d figured out so well, they can’t accept it and will look for any explanation other than the actual truth? I could act like a total bitch and they’d think that they must have done something terribly wrong to provoke such fury in a generally vicious but nice person. Except that the reality is that I’m not an inherently nice person, and I have an incredibly bitchy streak running through that’s only surfaced properly a couple of times, yet it’s always there and waiting for an excuse to lash out. See, that’s not what they’d think. And that’s just one example. I just don’t get why people insist on believing that they know someone properly, often apparently more than that person themself.

If you can’t be bothered to read and absorb the above, then here’s the simple version: I hate people who act like they damn well know me and won’t accept that the person they think they know isn’t the person I actually am. Get over yourselves, you’re wrong.
